Coiba’s unique island habitat offers a varied and attractive list of activities for all ages. Wether you want to check off the Coiba Spinetail from your bird list or simply enjoy beach combing in one of worlds most pristine enviornments on the planet visiting Coiba is a must.
Snorkeling can be absolutely amazing! In the clear waters of the park there are a number of coral reefs easily visited and user friendly that anyone with minimal snorkeling experience can take advantage of. Turtles, rays, sharks and large schools of jacks are often encountered close to shore. Pack an under water camera! And be sure to bring coral 'safe' sun screen lotion.
While there are currently not a large amount of trails on offer there are enough trails in the park to satiate the 'hiker' and immerse oneself with Coiba's unique tropical forest. Coiba's unique Howler Monkey along with the abundant White-faced Monkey are always a treat to observe.
Birding, hiking and snorkeling on Coiba National Park also takes some effort. Flexibility is a must. Access to many trails, beaches, mangroves and mud flats are tide sensitive. Tide (and weather overall) will play a major role in the days itinerary.
Bird Coiba will take you to the best birding trails, snorkeling sites, and secluded beaches the island has to offer...on the dates of your particular trip. He uses the tides, knows their local effects and will keep you birding as much as possible.
